In a developing story out of the White House, Barron Trump says he’s still unsure about what Elon’s role in his family is supposed to be.
“Is he my new brother?” a confused-looking Barron asked reporters. “Are my parents getting divorced? Or is he my new au pair since the last one quit because I was ‘an adult’?”
Further questioning revealed that Barron couldn’t really understand why Elon was in the White House at all.
“He just kind of roams the halls,” Barron said. “I actually thought he was a ghost for the first three days I was there. But then I realized other people could see him, too. So either he’s a real person or he’s a ghost that’s haunting everyone.”
Reporters were inclined to agree with the latter.
Sources close to the Trumps say this has been a difficult transition for Barron, and Elon’s ambiguous presence isn’t making it any easier.
“Moving back into the White House has been hard on him as it is,” said a source who wished to remain anonymous because obviously. “Being back in the public eye is ten times harder now that Elon is asking him to play Battleship every half hour.”
Others added that Barron’s confusion stems from the fact that Elon seemingly knows nothing about government, so his presence in the White House feels purely familial.
“Every dinner, it’s just me and him at opposite ends of a comically long table,” Barron said. “Did he adopt me or something? What’s going on here?”
As of press time, Barron hadn’t gotten any clarity, but he had absolutely destroyed Elon in Battleship, which did make the transition a little easier.
