27-year-old Gigi Lewis has dressed herself every morning by picking out what was the most practical, but recently she’s realized that she could benefit a lot from dressing in more cohesive outfits. That’s why she is determined to start dressing better whenever she figures out what that means exactly.
“I want to be taken more seriously in all aspects of my life, and I figured that how I dressed wasn’t really getting that across,” Gigi told reporters while wearing a sweatshirt, sweatpants, and Crocs — her default outfit. “However, I’ve been wearing the same thing for so long that I don’t even really know where to start. But that’s why I finally got a Pinterest!”
According to sources close to Gigi, her Pinterest board currently consists mostly of cute animals, memes, and nature photos instead of any aesthetically-pleasing or well-coordinated outfits.
“I guess I’m just not interested in that sort of thing and the algorithm picked up on it,” Gigi told reporters. “But that will change eventually… someday!”
Gigi has also tried to update her wardrobe by going thrifting and watching fashion tutorials on TikTok, but unfortunately, she has yet to make any strides in her fashion journey.
“Anytime I go shopping or try to put on my clothes in a better way than I have better, I somehow always end up with the same exact outfit I always wear,” she told reporters. “But, hey, I can’t say I didn’t try! I know future me will have this all figured out, though. She’ll be a total fashionista!”
While Gigi is confident that her future self will be dressed to the nines every single day, her friends aren’t totally convinced that her goal will somehow materialize into reality.
“Gigi is a big procrastinator,” one of her closest friends, Jamie Balogun, told reporters. “I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing, but I do think she should be more realistic about wanting to dress better, if that’s something she wants to do. I think she just assumes that one day she’ll wake up and know how to dress well, and that isn’t really something that happens overnight.”
However, despite the feedback from her friends, Gigi is still assured that her future self will know how to put an Instagram-worthy outfit together.
“They do say that ‘taste comes with age,’” Gigi told reporters, which is not a common saying at all. “So, for now, I can sit back and relax knowing that I’ll have better taste in the future. I’ll basically be a whole different person! I don’t know how it will happen, but it will. I can’t wait!”
