Roommates Have Perfect System Where One Takes Out Trash and One Is Resentful

New roommates Georgie Yeun and Raina McDunn have finally settled on a brilliant new system for managing housework in their Los Angeles apartment: Georgie takes out the trash, and Raina is resentful of Georgie for doing that because Raina said she’d do it later.

“The second we moved in, we made sure to organize a chore chart,” Georgie told reporters gathered at their kitchen. “Then, Raina quickly disregarded that chore chart and has kind of been doing whatever the fuck she wants, I guess.”

“She said that about me?” Raina asked reporters, after being informed of Georgie’s comments. Raina then scoffed and looked quite peeved, adding, “I’ve tried taking out the trash, okay? But every time I remember, she’s already done it! And then she comes into the living room and she sighs and she gives me this evil eye and it’s like, YOU COULD HAVE WAITED. I WAS GOING TO DO IT!”

Neighbors have not heard any yelling coming from the apartment, but this hints at something even more sinister: quiet passive aggression.

“Yeah, we’ve stopped speaking,” Georgie continued. “But I just know that if I said anything I would completely blow up.”

“I’d prefer if she blew up!” Raina countered. “This quiet resentment is killing me. Just say what’s making you mad and I’ll fix it! Let me take out the fucking trash!”

Sources confirm Georgie is a Libra and Raina is an Aries, so take from that what you will.

Raina claims that her work schedule in addition to her fledgling DJ career has precluded her from taking the trash out at night, but she always plans to do the chore when she comes home in the morning: “I finish work at 7, make dinner, then rush out the door at 8, and yeah, I don’t have time to take out the trash then, but I always plan to do it when I get back. Or at least I would…if…well, you know…”

Raina then nodded toward Georgie, who appeared to be reading on the couch but was clearly just eavesdropping on the conversation.

“IT’S NOT JUST THE TRASH THING,” Georgie yelled, finally losing her composure. “Trash is Raina’s only task, okay? I do the dishes. I clean the bathroom. All I ask is this one thing! And you can’t do it because you’re too busy writing new Mamma Mia! mashup tracks?!”

Sources confirm this one hurt.

At press time, the pair had reached a resolution where Raina would start taking the trash out around noon, Georgie would voice any concerns instead of harboring them, and both would feel a little self-righteous about it.
