If Donald Trump Becomes President, I Am Moving to Alaska

Presidential candidate Donald Trump has been stressing me out since he announced his candidacy in the summer of 2015. And now that he has shown success in the polls, I am deeply worried about the future of the United States. I simply will not stand to live in a country ruled by that lying, offensive bigot. So if he wins the election in November, I am packing my bags and moving far away, where Donald Trump cannot reach me. I will be starting a new life in Alaska.

It will be difficult to leave my friends and family behind, but I have to do what is best for myself. I cannot support Trump as President, and by moving, I am making an important protest. Besides, Alaska is a place I’ve always wanted to visit. It’s a large, beautiful area, with diverse and magnificent scenery. I can’t be touched by a fearmongering demagogue while I’m miles and miles away, admiring scenic mountains and watching whales. Alaska will be a serene and much needed escape from the broken American political system.

Many threaten that they will move to Canada when a bad president takes office. But to me, that’s not enough. Canada is still a neighbor of United States, and being that close it’s like, I might as well be living in the U.S.! I want to get far away where Trump can’t touch me. That’s why I have to go to Alaska and get as far away as I can.

Sure, moving across a continent because I disagree with our President may seem like an irrational decision, but I must stick to my principles. Every day Trump says something so horrible that it only makes me feel more confident that I want to leave this crumbling country. I won’t want to be an American anymore! That’s why I must go to Alaska.

When it comes down to it, I just want to feel free and happy in a beautiful land that isn’t run by Donald Trump. If the United States cannot offer me that, I know exactly where to find it. The only silver living of Trump’s win is that at least I will have another stamp in my passport! Alaska, here I come!
