‘I Refuse to Turn Into My Parents,’ Says Millennial Who Complains About Gen Z’s Fashion, Internet Usage, Sexuality, and Politics

When Millennial Hannah Rosenmeyer reached the same age her mother was when she gave birth to her, this reinforced the promise Hannah previously made to herself that she will never have the bitter and judgemental disposition of her parents’ generation. However, this is apparently not stopping her from complaining about Gen Z’s fashion, internet trends, sexuality, and politics.

“Growing up, my parents were always talking about the clothes I wore, the music I listened to, and the hobbies I had — constantly saying that they were stupid and ridiculous,” Hannah told reporters. “That’s why I promised myself that I would never grow into someone who only had negative things to say about the younger generations, even though it can be…difficult…at times.”

By “times,” Hannah is referring to the instances when she tweeted about Gen Z’s “stupid obsession with baggy pants,” “intolerance for side parts,” “severe lack of house parties,” “addiction to TikTok,” and “destruction of the Democratic party’s success.”

“Obviously, the real problem here are the boomers,” Hannah continued. “They left us with a world that we all must fight to save, which is extremely depressing. But I don’t think Gen Z is doing it the right way. Like, do we really have to cancel everything? Can’t we just live a little? Also, why is every 20-year-old polyamorous now?”

While Hannah has gotten into plenty of arguments with some of her Gen Z relatives, her conversations with her older family members have gone surprisingly smooth.

“We’re really happy with the way Hannah turned out,” Hannah’s mother, Eileen, told reporters. “Back when she was young, we were a bit worried, but we always knew she would see things from our point of view eventually. We just didn’t realize it would happen so soon!”

“Exactly,” Hannah’s father, Gabriel, added. “It used to seem like we could never relate to each other about anything, but nowadays, there’s so much to talk about! As long as we’re talking about anyone who’s younger than both of us.”

However, despite Hannah’s general detest of Gen Z’s interests and identity, there is one thing she mentioned that they can still agree on: hating on Gen A.
