While not gay herself, Janet Jackson earned a huge gay following in the 90s — and a Vanguard award from the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation — with the release of her sixth album The Velvet Rope, which included songs that dealt with things like homophobia and cemented her as an icon within the gay community. However, she doesn’t even come close to matching the icon status of Cynthia from Rugrats. Nothing sums up Cynthia’s impact better than the catchphrase sung by her toy car: “She’s fierce, she’s fashion, she’s servin’ up some sassin’.”
