Person You Don’t Like Trying to Create Common Enemy With You

The Gender Spectrum Collection

In troubling news coming out of the house party you’re currently attending, your friend’s friend, Patricia, who you have never meshed well with is making small talk with you. This would be totally fine, if it wasn’t for the fact that she is also trying to forge a common enemy between you two even though you are definitely not close enough for that.

“Okay, who’s that guy that Kevin brought? He’s being so rude to everyone,” Trisha told you, even though she has still never apologized to you for calling your dress “homely” when you two first met. “He literally went up to Sasha and her roommates and started giving them tips on how to decorate their apartment? Like, who does that?”

While it did give you pause that Patricia was trying to get you both on the same team somehow despite your obvious past, you still nodded along and agreed with her.

“Yeah, that’s so wild!” you said. “People should really be more aware of their surroundings. Or, like, maybe even say that they’re sorry when they realize they’re in the wrong? I don’t know.”

According to witnesses at the scene, Patricia did not get the hint.

“Exactly,” she said. “I think we’re really the only ones here with common sense, y’know? I’m so glad we’re in this together, girlie!”

While the conversation seemed to have ended amicably, you apparently still had some thoughts you needed to air out.

“I don’t want to dislike her, but I just feel like she’s trying to find a common denominator between the two of us so that she doesn’t have to feel bad about her behavior beforehand,” you told reporters at the event. “Like, yes, I don’t like the guy that Kevin brought either, but it doesn’t make what Patricia said to me any less weird. I also didn’t even really notice that guy until she pointed him out?”

At press time, you had a sudden change of heart after the unnamed man that Kevin brought spilled his drink on your shirt and then blamed you for getting in his way.

“Okay, wait,” you said to Patricia. “You’re actually so right. That guy fucking sucks.”
