‘It’s Important to Celebrate Your Accomplishments,’ Says Woman Looking for Any Excuse to Buy a Cheesecake

29-year-old Tasha Meyers has always maintained that it’s important to celebrate your accomplishments, no matter how big or small. However, Tasha recently admitted that this stance is largely born from her desire to find any reason to buy a cheesecake.

“Of course it’s important to celebrate yourself and recognize the milestones in your life,” Tasha told reporters while eating a cheesecake that she bought as a treat for herself for doing the laundry. “But more than anything, I’m just looking to get my hands on a cheesecake.”

Sources close to Tasha said they used to feel cherished when she would insist on buying them a cheesecake for their menial accomplishments – that is, until they found out how much she loves cheesecake.

“I thought she was just a really good friend,” Tasha’s roommate Divya told reporters. “But then I realized that it’s kind of just all about the cheesecake for her.”

Tasha’s sister Raina agreed, saying, “I knew she had ulterior motives when I said I’d prefer to have a key lime pie to celebrate my graduation, and she still showed up with a cheesecake, claiming she ‘forgot’ that I said that. She values cheesecake above all else.”

While Tasha agreed that cheesecake is a huge part of the reason she enjoys celebrating herself and others, she said that isn’t the only reason she insists on recognizing accomplishments.

“Life is short, we have to remember to cherish the important moments before it’s too late,” she said. “If we wait for the so-called ‘big moments’ to celebrate ourselves, we’re just robbing ourselves of joy, pride in our work, and, yes, cheesecake. Why is that so wrong to admit?”

Sources close to Tasha said that her love of cheesecake just makes her celebrations of them and herself ring false.

“Oh, I get it now,” Tasha said. “People feel like I’m more just trying to get cheesecake than actually honoring their accomplishments? That makes sense.”

As of press time, Tasha had determined that, going forward, she would celebrate things for the sake of celebrating them, not just as an excuse to buy a cheesecake. Then she promptly bought herself a cheesecake to celebrate having such a profound personal breakthrough.

“I’m proud of how far I’ve come,” Tasha said, through a mouthful of strawberry cheesecake.
