Adult Woman Still Believes That Band Is Going to Notice Her at Concert

In a developing story out of a concert hall in Chicago, IL, 28-year-old Malika Owens still believes, deep in her heart, that the band whose concert she’s attending is going to notice her in the crowd.

“When I was 13 years old, I was confident that Nick Jonas would spot me during one of their shows and fall madly in love with me,” Malika told reporters. “Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, but I still maintain that belief whenever I go to a concert.”

Sources say Malika’s conviction has made it difficult to attend concerts with her.

“We were in row 257 at a Paramore concert,” Malika’s friend, Thea, told reporters. “She wouldn’t jump around or have fun because she was convinced that Hayley Williams was going to see her and fall in love with her and she wanted to look good for when that happened. It’s like, wake up! Hayley Williams isn’t going to notice you! At her concert or elsewhere.”

Malika says that she’s used to the lack of support from her friends and family.

“No one understood when I was 13 and no one understands now,” Malika said, while reapplying her makeup in the bathroom during a Dua Lipa concert. “But that doesn’t mean it won’t happen for me. I’ve always known in my heart that I was meant to be noticed at a concert.”

Others close to Malika say this isn’t just hurting them, it’s hurting her as well.

“She has never actually enjoyed a concert in her life,” said Reagan Burns, the friend attending the Dua Lipa concert with Malika. “We could have witnessed the best concert of our lives and she would still leave disappointed because she didn’t get proposed to by the performer.”

In spite of her lifetime of failure in getting spotted at a concert, Malika still believes her time is coming.

“I don’t go on dating apps because I know I’m meant to meet my soulmate at a concert,” Malika said. “If that’s not manifesting, then I don’t know what is!”

As of press time, Malika had left the Dua Lipa concert disappointed as always, but had taken her delusion a step further since her Jonas Brothers days, saying, “Well, there’s still a chance she’ll DM on Instagram!”
