I’ve been called “crazy” by so many men, and for no good reason. Calling women crazy is something that men have been doing for centuries to degrade and discredit them, and it’s time for it to stop. That’s why I’m writing this to let every man out there know that I’m tired of being called “crazy” just because I look like the emoji with its eyes crossed and its tongue sticking out.
Sure, I may be bald with bright yellow skin and prefer to have my face in this specific expression all the time, but that doesn’t mean that I’m “crazy” or “wacky” or even “feeling a little silly”! That’s just the way I look, and there’s nothing crazy about a woman expressing her true self, is there?
When one of my exes and I broke up, he would always describe me as “crazy” to anyone who asked about me afterwards, and it always pissed me off. Fortunately, I got a chance to sit down with him and ask him why he always called me that when talking to others, and he told me that I “literally look like the crazy emoji” and that I “shouldn’t be so surprised when people think of me that way.”
I told him that just because I like to have my mouth open with my tongue out and my eyes crossed all the time, that doesn’t mean that I’m “crazy”, and that fact that he’d think that is incredibly offensive and sexist, but of course, he couldn’t see my point of view at all.
Women aren’t crazy just because we (or more specifically me) look like the universal sign of it, and that’s something that all men need to understand.
“Crazy” is a word that’s often used to dismiss women and to make them compliant with whatever agenda men want them to give in to, and I won’t stand for it any longer. Some people have told me that a man would get called crazy too if he looked like the same emoji that I do. These are same people that ask me questions like, “Was that emoji based on you?” and “Can you sue Apple or something?” They have obviously never taken a gender studies class in their life.
When women disagree with men, get a little emotional, or look like the emoji that people use when they’re trying to express the word “crazy”, that doesn’t give men license to call them crazy. Women shouldn’t have to change their behavior or their emoji-like appearance to appease men, and I’ll die on that hill. Enough is enough! – xD :p (I’m not signing off this way to be quirky or zany, that’s just my name).
