Hey all, it’s Ronni. Hope you’re well! A few updates:
You may know me from my monthly family newsletter, or maybe even my monthly personal newsletter. And while I know some of you feel inundated with information about my life and “don’t need to know what type of grapes I buy,” let me be the first to tell you: It’s true, I’m starting another newsletter.
This one will have a personal family theme, for the anecdotes from my life that don’t quite fit under the “Christmas in Weehawken” or “My Scare with Eczema” categories. For instance, this past month, I found myself grappling with the very real possibility that Victoria (now 8, can you believe it?) would need a chaperone for her field trip to the science center. I had an ear appointment booked on the same date a month in advance, so you can imagine the pickle I found myself in! It turned out she didn’t need a chaperone, though, which was almost as much of a relief as my colposcopy results!
The need for my additional newsletter became evident after several people asked me how I was doing, all in the same day. As you can see in the attached photo of Johnny (now 6, can you believe it?), he was recently accepted into the very prestigious choir at the Grace Hill Church (!!!!). I could not have been more proud, but wouldn’t you know, all the little guy wants to do is play soccer with his friends! Boys will be boys, right? And please spare me any comments about how this is not a “real problem” or how boys “won’t” be boys. The need for my newsletter is real and I will not defend myself anymore.
Weehawken has certainly gotten busier over the past few months with the holidays approaching. I can’t believe the year’s almost over! And the Town Hall parade this month has thrown my Chester (hates me, can you believe it?) into overdrive: he’s been making papier-mâché horses for the Horse Show float ‘til his head spins! And while yes, I understand some of you may say, “You already mentioned the Horse Show float last month,” and “I don’t care about Horse Shows or Weehawken,” I feel it’s worth re-mentioning for the sake of emphasis. Personal and family emphasis. Believe it.
So, I’ve hopefully made my case for a third monthly newsletter. You should be expecting it in a few days, along with a link to my new blog about worship dance class! And you’ll read every goddamn word.
