Wow! This Woman Got the Man of Her Dreams and All She Had to Do Was Say ‘NBA Playoffs’

Brooklyn, NY resident Jhenelle Michaels had tried just about everything under the sun to get her crush’s attention, but once she found out that the NBA Playoffs were happening, she found a surefire way to finally get the man of her dreams: by simply saying “NBA playoffs.”

“I had been crushing on this guy named David for a while,” Jhenelle told us. “But when I found out that he was a basketball fan, I just walked right up to him and said ‘NBA Playoffs’ — and his eyes lit up! Later that night, we were engaged.”

Okay, smooth talker!

Luckily, we were also able to speak with David Sutton, the apple of Jhenelle’s eye, who confirmed that he was smitten from the very beginning.

“I had been looking for the right girl all my life,” he said. “But when she told me ‘something something NBA Playoffs something something,’ I knew she was the one.”

Wow! We’d love to take a page out of your book, Jhenelle!

Jhenelle and David have been going strong for more than six months now, and they’ve both learned a lot about each other along the way.

“I found out that Jhenelle actually really likes painting,” David said. “When we first met, I knew that she had some sort of general knowledge about the NBA and the Playoffs, but I never knew I’d get to know how much she loves going to museums or hosting paint-and-sips!”

Aw! Looks like the quickest way to a man’s heart is actually talking about sports and then maybe you can talk about some other stuff!

The happy couple does occasionally get into minor spats once in a while, but Jhenelle assures us that she has a little secret for getting through these rough patches too.

“If we’re going through a little speed bump in our relationship,” she told us, “I usually just say ‘Steph Curry’ or ‘LeBron James’, and it makes him so happy that he totally forgets what we were even arguing about.”

“She just gets me,” David said. “I don’t know how, but she just does!”
