“It’s the way her eyes glisten and her face flushes…she’s just so beautiful,” said one male co-worker.
To the dismay of Amanda Becker, it is the consensus of all those around her that she is only truly beautiful when she is crying.
The beauty of her tears has led many who know Amanda to bring up sad topics around her, invite her to funerals, and interrogate her about her most traumatic memories. “I’m a somewhat sad person,” says Amanda when asked about the peculiar phenomenon. She then burst into tears and her face was transformed into a shimmering wet trembling façade.
“I was lucky enough to be with Amanda when she found out about a really terrible family tragedy,” recounted ex-boyfriend Conner Mathlis. “It was like looking at a painting.”
“Do you know what it’s like when people only want you to cry?” The vision of Amanda’s graceful hands wiping away the majestic river streaming down her bone structure would’ve rendered anyone speechless. “It’s just tragic to be so beautiful and so sad at the same time…and unfortunately that just makes it more beautiful.”
