Study Shows 35% of Women Have Thought About Their Neko Atsume Yard During Sex

Studies conducted by the researchers at Temple University suggest that 35% of women have thought about their Neko Atsume, the mobile cat-collecting app, during a recent sexual encounter.

“I think about a lot of things during sex,” said one participant. “My grocery list, how much my heating bill will be this month, and whether or not I should feed my rare cats the expensive cat food today. Doesn’t everybody?”

Researchers at Temple University assured us it’s quite normal to have fleeting thoughts of virtual pets. “What make these similar technologies and games unique and exciting for users is the idea that your virtual pets repeatedly thank you with gifts and favors,” says Dr. Jill Gomez. “Sexual relationships do not always embrace that give-and-receive relationship.”

“To be fair, I was probably 35 gold fish away from remodeling,” says one participant in the study. “The sex wasn’t all that satisfying, but I’ll be thinking about that rustic yard expansion for weeks.”

While Neko Atsume and other app-related distractions have caused a steady increase in lackluster sex and crumbling communication skills, researchers suggest to reconnect with your partner by bringing them goodies like used shoelaces, empty tissue boxes, and clumps of grass in the hope that they’ll return to give you more attention.
