First off, do you believe in ghosts?
- Absolutely not. It’s a ludicrous, anti-science belief, and it brings me great shame that so many Americans profess to believe in them. What has become of this nation!?
- I’ve been around for a little while, and I’ve certainly never seen one.
A friend tells you they’ve experienced the presence of a ghost or spirit. How do you feel?
- Furious! My friend is living in a fantasy world. I must chip away at their delusion with my reason, until they doubt what they “saw”.
- Outwardly I’ll go along with it, but I think there’s probably another explanation. I’ve just never had something like that happen, and like, why wouldn’t I? I’m a chill person. If ghosts were around I think I would have a lot to offer them.
Throughout history and across cultures, people have reported communion or communication with ghosts and spirits. Why?
- Schizophrenia.
- I’m really not sure. I don’t understand much of anything. I exist in the tiny purview of my senses within the cultural and ideological conditioning of my time. I don’t know if ghosts are “real” or if my concept of what a “ghost” is is too distorted for me to be able to recognize the experience of something Other to this material world. I do not believe.
