In a developing story out of Toledo, OH, 33-year-old Beatrice Gordon is hopping on the “mob wife aesthetic” TikTok trend by having a husband who regularly goes to therapy.
Okay, Carmela Soprano!
“Yeah, he goes every week and was hesitant about opening up at first, but is now seeing some real improvement,” Beatrice said about her husband, Jene. “I think it’s been really good for his self-esteem.”
While the trend usually includes things like wearing leather, furs, flashy jewelry, big sunglasses, and carrying an expensive designer bag, Beatrice has taken a new spin on it by simply being married to someone who goes to therapy, and that’s it.
“Yeah, we pretty much just live a normal, quiet life,” Beatrice told reporters. “I’ve been wearing the same jeans and t-shirt combo since 2016. Jene and I don’t like anything that’s too flashy.”
It’s giving major “secretly in the mob” energy!
In fact, Beatrice’s low-profile demeanor and subdued style choices have led many on the internet to believe that she actually is associated with the mob.
“She’s almost too normal, you know?” one commenter said on a photo montage Beatrice posted of her dog.
“That man might actually be Tony Soprano,” another commenter wrote on a video Beatrice posted of Jene finishing up a puzzle of an owl in a tree.
Beatrice found all of the speculation on the internet to be highly entertaining.
“Jene? He works at the public library and we love building Lego sets and going for walks with our dog on the weekend,” Beatrice said, and this was the final assurance the internet needed to be convinced that they were definitely in the mob.
She continued to laugh off the accusations, saying, “It’s actually kind of exciting that people think we’re in the mob! It’s the most fun we’ve had on the internet since buying each other Webkinz for Christmas last year.”
As of press time, Jene had been indicted on 17 counts of embezzlement and 13 counts of racketeering and was set to appear in court next month.
When reached for comment, Beatrice was decked out in a mink coat and a cheetah print jump suit, with a cigarette in one hand and a brand new Hermes bag in the other, yelling in a distinct New Jersey accent that she definitely didn’t have before, “I’ll never talk! Never! Jene, baby, I love you! I’ll wait for you!”
