Recently, I’ve been hearing a lot about the amazing healing properties of turmeric. Many women have even been incorporating it into DIY beauty products, calling it their “secret beauty weapon.” I decided to give it a try even though my secret beauty weapon has always been my age, which is 23.
Turmeric has been used to treat a variety of skin problems – from wrinkles (which I’m too young to get) to dry skin (which I just don’t have). I wanted to see for myself if turmeric was as good as the health blogs said, so I tried out a homemade turmeric face mask, even though I didn’t really need to because I’m really young and my skin is basically perfect!
At first, I was worried that the turmeric would stain my skin yellow. I already have radiant skin, because I’m super duper young and beautiful, so I wasn’t sure it was worth the risk. I guess that older people are willing to risk staining their skin in order to get rid of inflammation? I wouldn’t know – I’m so young and also blessed with great genetics.
Immediately, I had visible results. My skin was so taught and shiny – like it had a natural glow. But, again, my skin does have a natural glow! I guess that’s the benefit of being 23-years old? My skin looked so youthful! But it always looks youthful, because it is youthful. It’s the supple skin of a 23-year-old who could honestly skip washing her face for a week straight and still look fine – great, even!
I don’t know if it helped, but it certainly didn’t hurt. The turmeric made my skin feel soft and hydrated, but at the same time, my skin is always soft and hydrated no matter what I do. I can pretty much say that about all skin products.
I don’t know how well the mask would work on someone in their 30s. Maybe not at all? I don’t have any friends over 24, so I don’t have anyone to ask.
