This morning, the pop music star Alexandra Rose uploaded a 30-second YouTube video in which she openly wept and apologized for “everyone finding out” about her support of a long-time abuser in the music industry.
“My intention was always in the right place,” Rose said as she wiped away nonexistent tears. “And that intention was for no one to ever find out that I did this.”
Alexandra Rose then went on to describe all of the ways that she pledged to improve her behavior, which included “getting better at hiding her tracks.”
“I know that I’ve let you all down by not speaking out about this sooner,” she continued. “That was because I never thought this would become big enough news for me to address it publicly, and for that I am so, so sorry.”
Many of her former fans expressed their disappointment with the pop star’s actions.
“She honestly doesn’t seem sorry at all,” read one comment from user RoseRed33. “Like, she’s not even really addressing what she did in the first place?”
“Why is she filming this video in an abandoned shed?” commented another user, CrazyJanie111. “I’m pretty sure that’s not what her house looks like.”
At the end of Alexandra Rose’s video, she also went on to describe the kind of scrutiny that she’s been under since the news broke about her support of a producer who has 33 sexual assault allegations from 2011 to now.
“The things that I did were inexcusable,” she said while putting on her glasses, which reflected the publicist-written script she was reading. “But the hate I’ve been getting from people online honestly seems a lot worse. I’m a person too, remember? I’m just like you.”
It was then that Rose blew her nose into a $500 bill and promptly ended the recording.
