In a devastating story out of Brooklyn, NY, 26-year-old Lilith Myrto had just declared today’s overcast skies and constant rain showers to be “perfect reading weather” before realizing that it also happened to be perfect phone weather.
Damn it! She had just cracked open her book, too!
“It’s really unfortunate,” Lilith, from beneath no less than six quilts, told reporters. “How am I supposed to choose how to spend my day now? Or, more specifically, how am I supposed to choose my book?”
Lilith admitted that she always daydreamed about being the type of girl who would curl up with a good book during inclement weather. However, she had recently come to the realization that would never be the case for her if she also had access to her phone.
“Whenever it’s overcast or slightly rainy or there’s a slight chill in the air, it just makes me want to curl up on my couch with a good book,” she said, a steaming cup of tea seeming to have just materialized in her hand. “But when I actually sit down and open my book, the light pitter patter of rain on the window reminds me that I could also be watching TikToks or looking at my friend’s Instagram stories of the rain.”
There’s no better time to look at Instagram stories of the rain than when it’s raining!
“Now, instead of enjoying the stormy weather participating in a treasured hobby, I’m stuck deliberating between two equally-good alternatives, while simultaneously scrolling through Pinterest in the meantime,” Lilith said, her eyes glued to her phone and her book lying forgotten beside her.
Reporters found that Lilith managed to pin 18 photos of the same living room before ultimately deciding she wanted to read her book. She had just set her phone down and was about to reach for her book when she realized that she also had a TV.
“Turns out thunderstorms are also the perfect weather to binge-watch a show you’ve already seen a million times,” she said, now using her book as a coaster for her tea as she reached for the TV remote. “Books are better for beach days, anyways!”
Sure, girl!
