Elon Musk Clarifies He Was Not Doing a Nazi Salute but Rather an Homage to a Nazi Salute

In a story emerging from Washington, DC, Elon Musk came under fire for appearing to make a Nazi salute twice during his speech at President Trump’s inauguration. Thankfully, Musk has clarified that he was not actually doing a Nazi salute during the speech, but rather an homage to a Nazi salute, which is something completely different.

“It’s a classic display of poor media literacy that someone would see such a perfect homage to a Nazi salute and think I was doing a Nazi salute,” Musk told reporters gathered at the scene. “A Nazi salute looks like this, while an homage to a Nazi salute looks like this.

Musk made two more identical Nazi salutes as he said this. When reporters asked him to refrain from doing this, he said, “I’m just proving my point,” and heiled three more times.

“The leftist media is using convenient soundbites and also images and videos to make it seem like I did something I clearly did only a little bit,” he continued. “And frankly, it’s disgusting. What is this, some kind of Nazi hunt? Why are we hunting Nazis? Have we tried learning from the Nazis? Have we ever stopped to consider that maybe they were onto something?”

While members of the media and general public started a spirited debate about whether Musk had, indeed, done a Nazi salute, there was no doubt among one group: alt-right forums on Reddit.

“Oh yeah, amazing form there,” said Jack Whitesz, self-proclaimed big fan of the Nazis. “Let’s watch it back just to see how well he did it. Yup, there’s the lead-up, perfect. Amazing arm height. The depiction is really spot on. That’s a heil if I’ve ever seen one, and I’ve seen hundreds in my room alone at night when the girls I’m actively stalking won’t text me back.”

When informed that Musk was just making an “homage” to a Nazi salute rather than a real Nazi salute, Jack said, “Ah, yes, and a beautiful homage at that.” He then proceeded to draw an homage to a swastika on a posterboard and head down to the town square.
