When you’re going through a tough time, it’s so important to keep hope alive. But one woman is taking that hope to such an unreasonable level: 25-year-old Aurora Dume keeps telling her friends about the things she’ll do “…when this is all over.” Aww!
“I can’t wait ’til this whole thing is over,” Said Aurora, unaware that the earliest estimates, sans vaccine, put this pandemic lasting well into summer 2021. “I just wanna hug my friends again. It can’t last that much longer, right?”
Aw, Aurora! How naïve of you!
Aurora went on with her precious thoughts on the pandemic ending anytime soon.
“I’m gonna plan a huge vacation with all my friends when this is all over,” she said, not comprehending that the vacation will have to be to somewhere that accepts US passports, which is currently almost nowhere. “Maybe The Bahamas? Or Mexico CIty?”
“Someplace we can be around a bunch of happy people and drink to our hearts’ content,” Aurora added, the poor, sweet thing.
Friends are trying to get her to see the light.
“We keep trying to tell her that we’re in this for the long haul,” said Loren Willis. “But she’s remaining so optimistic…it’s almost adorable.”
“I think she’s just subconsciously trying to preserve her mental health,” said Tracy Resendes. “Which makes sense, it’s a hard time right now. I just want her to be realistic about things.”
“And she is…definitely not being realistic about things,” Tracy added.
She sure isn’t, Tracy!
“I get that my friends are sad about this whole thing too. But once this is all over, we can all go out to a big dinner and cheer each other up,” said Aurora. “Maybe Benihana, then we can make some new friends!”
Oh, sweet summer child!
