‘Being Off Instagram Has Been Good for Me,’ Says Friend Who Now Posts 90 TikToks a Day

In a story out of Los Angeles, 25-year-old Carissa Leigh has officially sworn off Instagram, which has been really good for her, even though she now posts an average of 90 TikToks a day.

“After regularly being on Instagram for 18 hours a day,I noticed that my Instagram usage was starting to make me feel pretty bad about myself,” says Carissa. “That’s when I decided to stop using Instagram altogether. And now I have almost 15k followers on TikTok!”

Wow, who would’ve thought?

We were also able to speak with Carissa friends on her recent IG hiatus.

“I was actually really happy to hear that Carissa stopped using Instagram, because she’d mentioned how anxious it was making her feel in the past,” Dre Hartfield told us. “But when I scrolled through TikTok a week later and saw that she was making almost 100 posts a day, I realized that this might be a bigger issue than I first thought.”

Dre wasn’t the only one of Carissa’s friends who felt this way.

“While I’m glad that Carissa got off of Instagram,” Victoria Jackson said. “I still don’t think she should be on TikTok. It just seems like she took one step forward, then fifteen steps back.”

However, Carissa vehemently disagrees.

“TikTok is nothing like Instagram,” she said. “Sure, there’s unrealistic body standards, an overarching and biased algorithm that feeds off your insecurities, paid influencers, and an addictive app design, but…. wait what I was talking about again?”

After we reminded her what she was saying, Carissa was happy to continue.

“Oh, right. Sorry, my attention span is completely fucked from looking at TikToks all day,” Carissa told us. “But it’s great! I feel sooo much better now that I’m off the gram!”

It looks like there is a way to leave Instagram for good, and it’s just getting on another app instead!

“I am getting a little tired of TikTok though,” Carissa admitted. “It might be time to take a break from it and go on Twitter instead.”

We wish her luck!
