5 Cocktails That Will Get Your Baby Through the Formula Shortage

With the baby shortage formula hitting new parents especially hard this spring, many are wondering how to feed their infant in any other way possible. But sadly, no one is thinking about the stress that all the babies are going through! That’s why we’ve compiled this list of five fun cocktails that your baby can enjoy while they try to get through this major supply chain issue.

Mai Thai

To make the perfect Mai Thai for your struggling newborn, simply combine white rum, curaçao, lime juice and orgeat into a shaker with crushed ice, then garnish with lime and mint on top. If your baby loves relaxing by the pool without getting their required nutrients, then they’ll absolutely adore this drink!

Whiskey Sour

A whiskey sour is one of the easiest cocktails to make! All you need is bourbon, lemon juice, simple syrup, and a maraschino cherry to serve on top, but if your baby isn’t really a bourbon kind of two-month-old, then you can use a nice scotch instead! They’ll definitely appreciate it while they’re going through such a hard time right now.

Moscow Mule

This drink is best when served in a solid copper mug, but if your baby hasn’t completely developed their motor skills yet, then a normal sippy cup will do! Just mix together vodka, ginger beer, lime juice, and some ice, and before you know it your baby will forget all their worries about a shortage that was a long time in the making but didn’t receive adequate attention until it was a full-on life-threatening crisis! Cheers!

Cosmopolitan

Let your 3-month-old baby channel their inner Carrie with a pretty pink Cosmopolitan! All you’ll need is vodka, triple sec, cranberry juice, and lime juice, and after a couple of these your baby will be thanking you for finally taking their mind off things (for instance, that WIC only covers specific formula brands, many of which are not on shelves)!

Gin and Tonic

This drink is so easy to make that your infant could actually just make it themselves! Just remind them to add some lime wedges at the end for a nice classy touch. Hey, it definitely beats some powdered formula, and if your baby could talk, they’d definitely tell you that. Hopefully they get some nutrients soon so they can learn how to talk! Bottoms up.

So if you and your infant are stressed about the lack of baby formula in stores, then whip up any one of these exciting cocktails to give your child to sit back and relax with. Afterall, in this extremely taxing shortage crisis, your baby needs a cocktail hour too!
