In this movie, they really don’t talk about how Mary got the money to purchase this enormous, if not decrepit, home. We all just kind of accepted that it was a normal and easy thing to do. However, if you go back and rewatch this holiday classic, you’ll be practically foaming at the mouth at the idea of reluctantly stumbling into owning a mansion that spans four blocks. If George was depressed in this movie, just imagine how depressed he’d be if he had to go home to a 700 square foot, $1,500 per month apartment instead.
