In a powerful story about overcoming lifelong hindrances, 27-year-old Noelle Hatfield has always had a case of chronic imposter syndrome – constantly second-guessing herself and doubting all of her decisions – until she finally resolved to no longer be so hard on herself, promptly causing a 17-car pile-up on the freeway.
Nice job, Noelle! Confidence is key!
“Even though I learned to drive more than 10 years ago, every time I get behind the wheel, I get caught up in my own head about whether I’m doing a good job driving or not,” Noelle told reporters at the scene, where more than 25 people were being individually airlifted to the hospital. “It was such a relief to finally let go and trust myself, even if I almost killed myself and others!”
Yes, girl, you got this! A warrant for your arrest, that is!
Noelle’s loved ones seemed to be thrilled over her recent actions taken on the interstate.
“Since she was a little girl and was terrified of climbing the monkey bars, I’ve always told her that she needed to trust her gut and just go for it,” Noelle’s mother Theresa Hatfield told reporters. “With Noelle being in her twenties now, I was starting to question whether she’d ever start listening to herself, but after I saw what they’re now calling ‘the accident of all accidents’ on the local news, I couldn’t be more proud!”
Way to finally get in the driver’s seat, Noelle! Too bad you’ll probably never sit there again!
As for how Noelle thinks this experience will affect her self-confidence in the future, she is certainly optimistic.
“Everyone makes mistakes,” she said, her posture now notably straighter than ever. “Sure, when I let go of expectations and crashed into the car in front of me, which caused that car to crash into the car in front of it, which caused that car to T-bone a different car in another lane, I admit that I felt pretty embarrassed. But after being afraid of my own potential for more than two decades, I can’t let anything stop me now! Presidential race, here I come!”
As of press time, Noelle learned that she was unable to run for the 2024 Presidential Election, but she did speak up in a recent meeting at work, which is a massive improvement for her.
