In a forbidden love story emerging from the offices of Apex Marketing in Phoenix, AZ, it seems 28-year-old Yvette DeMarco has finally found a suitable work crush as she’s been flirting relentlessly with the idea of quitting.
Cute! Sounds like there might be a new “it” couple around the office!
“I don’t really know how it started,” she told reporters gathered at the scene, while turning bright red. “Well, my work friend Maya introduced us – she quit three weeks ago and really recommended it. Ever since then, I’ve just found myself thinking about quitting first thing in the morning. It’s also the last thing I think about before I go to sleep at night. Should I tell someone?”
Reporters were quick to say that, no, she should not tell anyone — at least not until she’s sure!
“You’re so right,” she responded, shaking her head. “I don’t want to get HR involved in my work crush until I’m sure it’s for real.”
Yvette maintains she never would have started flirting with the idea of quitting if it weren’t for her current work conditions: “I just felt so burnt out and really needed something to pass the time, you know?” she told reporters. “Now that I spend my days thinking about quitting, time just flies by! Guess that’s the benefit of a work crush.”
After telling reporters all about her crush, Yvette had to take a quick break to giggle in the mirror.
Sources at the office confirm this isn’t Yvette’s first crush: prior to flirting with the idea of quitting, she was also spotted flirting with the idea of taking a three-week vacation to Mikonos.
“I was never really serious about the Mikonos thing,” she was quick to say. “We had a brief flirtation before I realized we would never work out, and it was best to just stop thinking about it entirely. But I’m really serious about quitting.”
It seems Yvette isn’t the only one! “The idea of quitting” has really been getting around the office.
“Well, I heard Sarah was flirting with the idea of quitting, and I thought I’d see what all the hubbub was about,” office manager Ryan Kahn told reporters in hushed tones around the water cooler. “It’s just so hot, you know? And there’s nothing wrong with a little workplace flirting!”
Yvette better lock it down before someone else does, first!
