Waking up early is a great way to kickstart your morning and set the tone of productivity for your day. Unfortunately, it also means that you’ll have to be awake for more consecutive hours. Okay, so, yeah, the only reason you got up earlier was to accomplish more before work. But, hey, if the only thing that can get you up before 7 is the promise of a morning movie and a bowl of Cap’n Crunch, you should go for it! It’s better than nothing, probably.
Convince yourself that hours when the sun isn’t up don’t count.
Really, your “day” only truly consists of the hours that the sun is up, people are reaching out to you, and you have actual obligations to fulfill. Being up early, before the sun has risen, is basically like being asleep –– but with your eyes open and your body moving around. Your day doesn’t truly start until you get a Teams notification from your boss!
Attempt to find joy in being awake and alive?

Once the whole “find joy” thing inevitably fails, fall back on the false joy that comes with overconsuming energy drinks. Who cares if drinking eight energy drinks is considered “safe” or not, you were up at 6 a.m. for god’s sake –– you deserve this.
End your day promptly at 6 p.m.
If all else fails and waking up earlier is simply not feasible if it’s going to make your day even remotely longer, even things out by ending your day promptly at 6 p.m. Now, you’ll be up earlier, adhering to the socially-accepted standards of being a productive member of society, and your days will actually be shorter than ever! It’s a win-win!
