7 Beach Reads That Just Happen To Be The Books Jack Liked On Facebook

There’s nothing better than sitting on a beach with the sand between your toes, a cocktail in your hand, and a great book in your lap that Jack happened to like on Facebook. Yes, that Jack! Wow, once you read all of these books and bring them up in conversation with him, he’ll be like, “Wow, we have so much in common. I should definitely date her!” What a crazy coincidence his faves are on this list!

Cat’s Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut

This Vonnegut book is an American classic and a Jack classic. Wow! After you read this, you can be all “Vonnegut’s a great satirist—oh, you’ve read Vonnegut, Jack? I had literally no idea that you were a fan! I just started reading the book because of a list!”

The Crying of Lot 49 by Thomas Pynchon

This is a great summer read because some it happens during the summer, and also because it’s one of the eight books Jack has liked on Facebook. Pretty nuts, huh? so we’d have put it on our list even if Jack didn’t like it.

1984 by George Orwell

Most lists of beach reads include recent or lighthearted releases, but not this list! This list is just a bunch of awesome books to read on a beach! The face that they’re also Jack’s favorite books is a total coincidence.

Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace

Did Jack read this book, or did he just like it on Facebook? Who cares! It’s going on the list anyway, which should actually prove that this list has very little to do with Jack. But now, if he ever brings it up, you can talk about it and he’ll be amazed you have so many similar interests!

Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger

When we think of this book, we think “This is totally a 2016 beach read!” But when you talk about this book to Jack, since it does happen to be in his favorite books, he’ll think “This is totally the girl for me!”

Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk

Maybe Jack put this in his favorite books when he was 17 and first got a Facebook, but that doesn’t actually matter since it’s our recommendation for the current summer! Nothing like having a relaxing day at the beach reading Fight Club!

Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck

Yet again, a classic beach read! Did Jack also happen to list this as a favorite book of his on Facebook? Of course he did. But you’re not reading it to prepare you to talk to Jack in hopes of making him think you’ve always had his exact interests, you’re reading it because this is a list of beach reads and you loooove reading on the beach!

Beach reads make you feel happy, and so does talking to Jack—not that that’s even the point of this list because it’s not!!
