Why I Gave Up My Newborn Baby for a Stanley Cup

Life is all about making difficult decisions. When I first found out that I was pregnant with my very own bundle of joy, I was thrilled! However, this was before Stanley Cups started trending on TikTok, and obviously my priorities changed, which is why I made the difficult decision to give up my newborn baby in exchange for a limited-edition Stanley cup, and it was so worth it!

After regularly monitoring the Stanley website and even camping outside Target for a chance to obtain my own limited edition Galentine’s Collection Cosmo Pink Stanley Tumbler, I was unfortunately left empty handed. Well, except for my baby, that is.

After scouring the internet for any hope that I could get my hands on the latest Tumbler for weeks, I found someone on eBay who was selling theirs for $2,000. However, I didn’t have a lot of cash on hand at the time, but like I said earlier, I did have my newborn baby. I promptly messaged the seller if they’d be open to adopting and raising my child as their own instead of receiving their original asking price. First, they told me they only accepted PayPal, but after a little nudging, they finally accepted my offer.

Sure, my baby was the best thing that ever happened to me — at the time. Now, I’m pretty sure the day I got the Target Cosmo Pink Stanley cup in the mail was actually the happiest day of my life. I couldn’t have done it without my firstborn child though, and I’ll always remember them fondly for that.

After giving up my baby for the rarest Stanley Cup, many people on TikTok expressed their disdain for my actions, telling me that a baby is priceless and nothing could ever warrant giving one up for the sake of a silly trend, but those people have obviously never tried using a Stanley cup before.

The tumbler I got in exchange for my child is 40 ounces, comes with a straw, is insulated with stainless steel, is adjustable for left-hand users, and can fit into virtually any car cup holder. My useless baby couldn’t compete with any of that! Plus, Adele and Shay Mitchell have one too!

At the end of the day, I’m happy about the decision I made to give up my baby for a tumbler that I’ll probably only use for a couple years until I lose it or until Hydro Flask makes a comeback — whatever happens first! And for the people who ask me how I sleep at night, I’ve never slept better, because I always sleep next to my Stanley cup, which also has its very own crib.
