Tech Fail! This Self-Driving Car Drove This Woman Right to Her Ex’s and Made Her Confront Him

With today’s technologies developing at an exponential rate, there are bound to be some growing pains. Such was the case for 32-year-old Eva Rodriguez of San Francisco, who had no idea what she was getting into when she agreed to test a self-driving car for General Motors.

According to Rodriguez, before she even pressed a button in the vehicle, the car drove her directly to her ex-boyfriend’s house and made her confront him.

Talk about a major tech fail!

“It was so bizarre,” said Rodriguez. “I just wanted to go to the grocery store, but instead the car drove me right to my ex-boyfriend Jeremy’s house, parked very inconsiderately on his front lawn, and made me go through his garden to the back door and use the spare key he keeps in a flowerpot to let myself in and confront him! I expected better from this supposedly cutting edge technology.”

When asked to comment on the incident, General Motors CEO Mary T. Barra firmly denied any company accountability.

“There is no known reason one of our autonomous cars would ever drive to a location not programmed into the vehicle’s GPS by the user or manufacturer,” said Barra. “Further, it could not possibly have forced Ms. Rodriguez to exit the car, enter her ex Jeremy’s home, and confront him.”

The technological snafu didn’t stop when Rodriguez entered Levy’s house. Levy was reportedly not home when Rodriguez arrived, so the car’s faulty technology forced her to sit in his kitchen for 40 minutes losing most of her confrontational steam, and start crying immediately when he arrived.

Despite her experience, Rodriguez says she does not plan to take legal action against General Motors.

“It’s not like the car is crazy,” Rodriguez said. “What it did was irresponsible, but it probably just thought I needed to confront Jeremy to get the closure I never received during our drawn-out breakup. I can see why the self-driving car would feel that way. Like everyone should just take it easy on the self-driving car, and give the car some space to just fucking feel it’s feelings, ok?!”

“Also, who knows,” Rodriguez added. “If me and Jeremy get back together this could actually be a great story. Maybe GM will sponsor our wedding.”

According, to General Motors, it will not.
