How to Empower Yourself Against Oncoming Traffic

Are you tired of feeling powerless against lanes of cars? You’re not alone. In a recent global survey, more than 99 percent of women reported feeling “weak”, “hopeless”, or even “afraid” of wandering onto busy streets teeming with speeding automobiles. To us and other strong, feminist organizations, that’s 99 percent too many. Here’s how, in just a few easy steps, you can reframe your mindset from “I can’t stand in the middle front of oncoming traffic” to “I CAN stand in the middle of front of oncoming traffic”.

Visualize yourself as a strong, highway-interrupting woman.

Calm your mind with meditation. Using the power of mental imagery, envision yourself having remarkable strength. Picture cars crumpling when they hit your indestructible frame. Imagine buses careening off the road out of fear. You are not powerless; you are strong and capable of great influence. Nothing can harm you, least of all cars.

Practice positive self-talk about your dominance over cars.

“I am smart.” “I am strong.” “I am capable of destroying an automobile with just my upright standing body.” Phrases like these will prepare you to stand fearlessly in the middle of oncoming traffic. Know your worth and believe in yourself. You are better than cars.

Strip oncoming traffic of its scariness.

Zooming metal cars are only as scary as you let them be. Watch movies like Herbie the Love Bug, Cars, and 2 Fast 2 Furious. You’ll notice that cars are actually very fun, and when they’re not, they’re very cool. If oncoming traffic is comprised of cars such as these, is it really something to be worried about? Of course not.

Do your research!

If you research cars, you will realize that they are terrible at what they do. They are heavily susceptible to crashing and killing their drivers. They are sometimes shoddily made and require factory recalls to fix them. If you can believe it, people are actually more likely to die in a car than flying in an airplane—and airplanes are way more expensive than cars! Those clunky metal wagons can barely bumble down the street without you standing in their way; therefore, they’ll be no match for you when you ARE standing in their way!

Stand in front of oncoming traffic.
Ultimately, the best way to conquer a fear is to confront it. (NOTE: After researching cars, this will be much easier to do.) Locate a busy street or intersection, and firmly plant your feet on the hot asphalt. Close your eyes, and calm your body. Pay no regard to motorists’ yelling or honking. They will be puzzled by your feminine strength. Let them absorb your yonic dominance. Extend your arms outward in fearlessness—there’s no not-noticing you now!

So go ahead—play in traffic! Namaste, girl!
