Healthy Smoothie Bowls That Honestly Aren’t Worth the Effort

Everyone knows that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, yet with our hectic lives, we often find ourselves grabbing a donut or muffin in the morning. Smoothie bowls are a healthy alternative to those processed sweets, and are packed with vitamins and antioxidants to fuel you throughout your day. These recipes are delicious, nutritious, and totally not worth the effort they take to make.

Purple Power Smoothie Bowl

If you’ve never heard of a smoothie bowl before, don’t stress. They’re like a smoothie, but put in a bowl, which makes it better somehow. Get it? This one has a strawberry and raspberry base, with chia seeds and spinach for an extra nutritional boost. Then fruits, granola, and toasted coconut are artistically arranged on top, which serves no purpose and is a huge waste of time.

Acai Smoothie Bowl

This stunning smoothie bowl is an antioxidant powerhouse, with raspberries, blueberries, and pomegranate. It’s also got acai powder in it, which is something you can get at a health food store specifically for this recipe and never use again. What’s the point? Just have a bowl of cereal.

Green Smoothie Bowl

This vibrant spinach and kiwi smoothie bowl will melt into a watery, room temperature puddle immediately after you take an Instagram pic which, let’s be real, was mostly the motivation for doing this anyway. You might as well just dump it down the drain. Yum!

Raspberry Mango Smoothie Bowl

Fact: This smoothie bowl requires 10 ingredients, 15 minutes of prep, three minutes to eat, and 10 minutes to clean up after. You do the math. It all adds up to “not worth it.”

Banana Cocoa Smoothie Bowl

This chocolaty smoothie bowl looks like dessert, but is packed with protein and fiber. It’s like froyo, but less satisfying and more expensive to make. The self-satisfaction is tempting, but don’t give in. Definitely don’t bother with this one!

Maybe someday you’ll be the type of person who has all day to puree frozen fruits, put them in a bowl, and decorate it with expensive ingredients. Until then, you can trade them for a warm cinnamon bun. Delish!
