Foreign Accent Syndrome? This Woman Has a Blaccent That Mysteriously Disappears Around Her Grandparents

21-year-old Larissa Benedict might be experiencing a wild case of foreign accent syndrome – online and around friends Larissa has a blaccent, but as soon as her grandparents appear, the blaccent is gone. Doctors across the nation are puzzled as Larissa has not been injured or undergone any major surgery that might’ve caused this.

“This just be how I’m finna talk. I don’t get why people think this isn’t my real voice?” Larissa shared. “I’m from the trenches for real, that’s just how we talk in the trenches, on gang.”

A deep dive into Larissa’s past revealed that Larissa is from Orange County, California and is an heir to an oil fortune.

Okay, Larissa! Talk that talk, girl!

Larissa’s parents, Olivia and Craig Benedict, are surprised by her accent change, saying the accent is new, contrary to Larissa’s original claims of “being from the trenches for real.”

We love an ever-evolving queen!

The couple also cited a recent visit to Olivia’s parent’s family home as an eye-opener.

“We wanted to remind Larissa where she really comes from. Once she saw her grandparents, her tune finally changed,” Olivia shared. “This whole thing started a couple of years ago when Larissa debuted a new internet personality, donning this new hip accent. Apparently, her followers loved it.”

Sounds like Larissa is the talk of the town!

Larissa’s grandparents disapprove of her social media presence. A statement from the residence of Dame Caden Frugerton, Larissa’s grandmother, claims Larissa’s online persona “doesn’t align” with the young lady they know and love and they “hope Larissa considers returning to her roots.”

Aw, what loving grandparents!

“My grandparents are just really old school, slat. They don’t really get where I’m coming from,” Larissa explained. “Like, I’m from the hood lowkey and they are from the Upper East Side, I can’t be myself around them.”

Even when presented with the evidence about the realities of her upbringing, the 21-year-old dismissed the accusations of her accent being fake. If this is a case of foreign accent syndrome, we hope Larissa gets well soon.
