Hollywood Co-Stars Who Just Didn’t Get Along Came Polly

We may idolize them for their roles on the silver screen, but it’s important to remember that at the end of the day, actors are just normal people. They work out, go to the grocery store, have their moms do their taxes, and sometimes just don’t “get” the groundbreaking film, Along Came Polly. Let’s face it. The 2004 romantic comedy starring Jennifer Aniston and Ben Stiller wasn’t for everyone. Here are some of our all-time fave co-stars who just couldn’t get down with Along Came Polly.

Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall

Our favorite on-screen BFFs were always seen strutting the red carpet together back in their Sex and the City days. But we never really got that celebrity gossip we were all secretly dying for—which films of the early aughts did they and did they not enjoy?! It was rumored that while SJP knew something was off about Along Came Polly, it took Kim, known for her role as perpetually turned-on Samantha, to point out the gaping plot holes. Despite their onscreen girl-mance, the chemistry of these two actresses did not lead to an appreciation of Along Came Polly. Sorry, Polly!

Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslett

These Titanic lovers broke all of our hearts back in 1997—but let’s just say Leo and Kate can’t say they felt the same about Along Came Polly. When TMZ paparazzi asked for his opinion on the flick back in 2005, teen heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio was infamously quoted saying: “I mean, it was okay. I just didn’t really get what they were going for.” And get this—Kate agreed with him. She describes her struggle to comprehend the obvious widespread appeal of the film as “mind-numbing.” Ouch! That’s gotta hurt, writer/director John Hamburg!

Will Smith and Eva Mendes

These Hitch stars were all the rage back in 2005, just one year after Along Came Polly was released, so obviously their opinions on the film were heavily documented! Smith and Mendes spent a lot of time in the spotlight, and you bet their apathetic reaction to the rom-com was strewn across tabloids everywhere. Loveable Hitch matchmaker, Will Smith, said he really enjoyed the cast, but was “just kind of distracted while watching it and felt that Stiller’s character was over-the-top.” WOW. Adding insult to injury, it was reported Mendes even said she thought the film “insisted upon itself.” Yikes! Smith and Mendes and Aniston and Stiller certainly won’t be seen together at Hollywood parties anytime soon after those catty disses about this influential film…

Those Kids From the Spy Kids Movies

Along Came Polly might have grossed $32 million on opening weekend, but it grossed OUT these child actors! It’s no secret that the two zany kids from the critically acclaimed “Spy Kids” franchise, Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara, did not enjoy this classic romantic comedy. Despite their antics on the set, these two child actors just couldn’t grasp the adult-themes portrayed in the film. Maybe they’ll understand when they’re older!

Ben Stiller and Jennifer Aniston

Yep, you saw that right. Both Ben and Jen said the other was a joy to work with on set, but at the end of the day, they just didn’t really “understand the purpose of Along Came Polly. Seriously? “It was mildly funny, mildly cute, but overall? Pretty vanilla,” explained the pair in a joint press release.

Ugh, they have SUCH good chemistry! Why can’t they see that??
