Aunt Kathy Tries to Be Cool About New Racially Diverse Annie Remake

Sources confirmed that Aunty Kathy is trying to “be cool” about the new racially diverse Annie remake, but couldn’t help but to give her opinion on the trailer for the film.

“It looks like they are taking it in a very…creative direction,” Aunt Kathy said. “I can tell you one thing – it just won’t be the same without Carol Burnett. That woman had talent. I’m no racist, but I just don’t see how you can have an Annie without Carol Burnett.”

“I mean I understand they are going in a new direction. But I’ll tell you one thing – I didn’t hear any singing in the trailer. What? It’s not going to be a musical? Well there you go.”

Sources report Aunt Kathy watched the trailer three times before deciding she’d give it a fair chance, but maybe wait to get a DVD copy from the library.

“I have no problem with the fun new casting. I get the direction they are going in,” Kathy said while taking a sip of pinot grigio. “I like when things are diverse. It is 2014 for goodness sakes! But why ruin a classic?”

“I am an Obama supporter.” Aunt Kathy reportedly said out of nowhere during a lull in the conversation.
