10 TOTALLY FIERCE Celebrity Suicide Notes

Van Gogh - Reductress

If you’re like me, you’re always wondering what a celeb was thinking during their last minutes on the planet! Well guess what? Many celebs died as they lived: seeking outside approval, and self-destructing like they had deeply rooted depressive proclivities that ultimately consumed them! Thankfully, these Hollywood heavyweights thought to leave us with a little update to show just how fabulous their inner struggle actually was. Here are some amazingly fierce last notes from celebs who chose to end their daunting trek on Earth…in style!

Virginia Woolf

“Dearest, I feel certain that I am going mad again. … You have given me the greatest possible happiness. You have been in every way all that anyone could be. I don’t think two people could have been happier ’til this terrible disease came. I can’t fight any longer. I know that I am spoiling your life, that without me you could work …”

Virginia Woolf’s suicide note is a classic lesson in FIERCE!  This sui-note screams girrrrl power, plus a harrowing depression that ultimately overpowered her life and marriage! Is there anything more powerful than the love and loss of a creative person?!

Sergei Yesenin

“Goodbye, my friend, goodbye – My love, you are in my heart. It was preordained we should part – And be reunited by and by. Goodbye: no handshake to endure. Lets have no sadness-furrowed brow. There’s nothing new in dying now – though living is no newer.”

This farewell poem by Russian poet  Sergei Yesenin teaches us so much: from the true meaning of friendship to living in a fog of crippling alcoholism.  Plus, it was written in his own blood. SWOON!

Hunter S. Thompson

“No More Games. No More Bombs. No More Walking. No More Fun. No More Swimming. 67. That is 17 years past 50. 17 more than I needed or wanted. Boring. I am always bitchy. No Fun – for anybody. 67. You are getting Greedy. Act your old age. Relax – This won’t hurt.”

Thompson refused to grown old and got his suicide note published in Rolling Stone! Is there anything more rock ‘n’ roll than that?!

Clara Bandick

“I am now about to make the great adventure. I cannot endure this agonizing pain any longer. It is all over my body. Neither can I face the impending blindness. I pray the Lord my soul to take. Amen.”

Blindness? Please. This  Wizard of Oz actress left this realm in style, by rearranging her room, getting herself totally glammed up and taking an overdose of sleeping pills. But this diva didn’t quit there!  She lay down on a couch, covered herself with a gold blanket and tied a plastic bag over her head in a carefully choreographed and magical suicide! FIERCE!

Adolf Hitler

“I myself and my wife – in order to escape the disgrace of deposition or capitulation – choose death. It is our wish to be burnt immediately on the spot where I have carried out the greatest part of my daily work in the course of a twelve years’ service to my people.”

You may disagree with his politics, but Hitler knew how to take a stand, right until the bitter end! Total fierceness from the fiercest man of all time!*

Vincent Van Gogh

“The sadness will last forever.”

Actions speak louder than words, especially the action of shooting yourself in the chest while in a fit of despair and hallucinatory rage. Van Gogh knew how to pull on our heartstrings like the total badass artist that he was. You Van Gogh, girl!
